BBC Radio 5: What the record gold-price means

Wednesday Oct. 7, 20:00 GMT

LONDON, 7 October 2009 — BullionVault's head of research, Adrian Ash, appeared today as a guest on the BBC's national Radio 5 Live drive-time show.

Interviewed by business reporter Declan Curry — also presenter of BBC Two's Working Lunch — about what the current surge in world gold prices means, Ash pointed to fears over the long-term value of currency, most especially the US Dollar.

"You can't create gold at will," Ash said. "That's the big difference [for investors] from government money or government debt."

You can listen to Adrian's short interview for the next week at BBC iPlayer. Scroll to 2 hours, 29 minutes...
