BBC Today: Really Quick, Really Easy

LONDON, 15 April 2014 – BullionVault was named this morning as a low-cost, simple route to buying and trading on BBC Radio 4's flagship news and current affairs show, Today.

Speaking to business editor Andrew Verity, "Growth in gold demand in China is faster than the growth in internet usage," said Marcus Grubb, director of investment strategy at market-development organization the World Gold Council, presenting the group's new China gold market report.

"Households there save between 20% and 40% of their income. Hundreds of millions more people are coming into the middle class."

Asked whether Western investors aren't disadvantaged in the gold market compared with big financial traders who have better information, or can get in and out of the market fast, "In countries like India and China, you can buy gold really quickly and really easily," said Mr.Grubb.

"You can do that too in the UK through businesses like BullionVault or exchange-traded funds on the London stock market."

The World Gold Council is an investor in BullionVault, taking an 11% shareholding in 2010.
