BBC: All the Gold in London

LONDON, 17 May 2016 – Widely recognized as the world's most trusted news source, the BBC today quotes BullionVault comment and analysis at length in a report on the London gold market.

Speaking to BBC online magazine's 'Who, What, Why' feature to "answer...the questions behind the news", the UK "doesn't produce gold or refine it, nor is there much consumer interest," says Adrian Ash, BullionVault's head of research.

"However, [London] is the centre of the wholesale gold market...the fourth-largest importer of gold and the second largest exporter. When you request a price of gold it is given as 'Loco London' – the price of gold delivery in London, which is the baseline."
