LONDON, 26 June 2016 – Gold's proven stability could be the safest bet for protecting your wealth following the Brexit decision, today's Sunday Times tells UK savers, highlighting BullionVault analysis of historic returns.
"The yellow stuff has soared by 33% in Sterling terms since the start of the year," says the newspaper's personal finance columnist, former Telegraph Money editor Ian Cowie.
Citing BullionVault's detailed research, "Historical analysis of returns over the past 40 years shows how some exposure to gold in a balanced portfolio of shares and bonds can substantially reduce overall volatility," Cowie goes on.
"Gold is a portfolio diversifier because it tends to rise when other assets fall," he quotes Adrian Ash, head of research at BullionVault, explaining the data.
